Margarita fans are having their next six weeks mapped out for them by Edinburgh’s Signature Group, which is about to launch a ‘Margarita Mile’ promotion involving five of its New Town bars.
From this Wednesday, 18th February, until Tuesday 31st March, Signature is teaming up with tequila brand El Jimador to encourage customers to sample a variety of margaritas on a mile-long route, collecting potentially prize-winning stamps along the way.
The venues taking part are The Basement on Broughton Street; The Boozy Cow on Frederick St; Badger & Co on Castle St; Copper Blossom on George St; and The Huxley on Rutland St, all of which are ‘pouring their passion’ into a new menu of margarita-inspired cocktails.
Based around ‘National Margarita Day’ on Sunday 22nd February, the six-week campaign is issuing an official ‘Margarita Mile’ map at the participating venues, giving customers a chance to win prizes once they have a stamp from each site.
The Basement on Broughton Street is the recommended finishing point, with a number of prizes up for grabs, including exclusive Margarita Mile caps.
There’s also a limited-time Margarita Mile food offering, including Birria Tacos at The Basement), Short Rib Skewers at Copper Blossom, Cheeseburger Soup at The Huxley, and Wagyu Burger at The Boozy Cow.
Head of business development for Signature Group, Hannah McConnachie, said: “We can’t wait to start shaking things up with the launch of Edinburgh’s first Margarita Mile this February and March.
“We have five great bars to visit over six weeks, so people will get the chance to celebrate this iconic cocktail throughout margarita month, win prizes and become an official member of the Marg Mile Club!
“With some of the best bars and bartenders in Edinburgh taking part in the trail, it’s the perfect time to get out and about, enjoy the Mile and raise a Margarita.”
