Independent Scottish hospitality group Manorview is sharing £135,766 of its annual profit with 300 members of its staff team.
Every year, Manorview’s ‘Heartcount’ scheme distributes 10% of the group’s net profits amongst everyone who has been with the business for one year or more.
Having moved away from performance or target related bonuses for managers or sales team several years ago, Manorview bases its profit share scheme solely on hours worked, not on job title or pay.
This means that regardless of whether someone is a director, housekeeper, manager, spa therapist, finance manager, chef or kitchen porter, they get the same amount for the same hours.
The group, which owns and operate 11 venues, released details of this year’s pay-out on Monday evening of this week, at team meetings and events held across the business.
These ‘A Slice for Everyone’ events – named to highlight that everyone, regardless of role, can get a slice of Manorview profits – also treated staff to pizza, cake and take-home goody bags.
Head of people at Manorview, Dani Fraser, said: “We are very proud of our Heartcount profit share scheme. Everyone, regardless of role, makes a positive contribution to Manorview and it’s only right that they then receive something in return.
“We are pleased that we’ve been sharing profits for seven years now, and to date over £968,000 has been shared fairly with our committed and caring team.”
She continued: “Fairness is the heart of so many of our decisions, and the fact is it’s not just senior or sales team who make things happen here, this is why we structure Heartcount in the way we do.”
Though some newer members of the Manorview team don’t yet qualify due to their length of service, all team members at the very least got the pizza and cake.
Manorview’s sites throughout Central Scotland including Boclair House in Bearsden, Brisbane House in Largs, and The Redhurst in Giffnock.
The profit share scheme is just one aspect of the group’s progressive approach – it also established a registered charity, the Manorview Foundation, back in 2023, which to date has supported thousands of people in poverty through free events, free hot meals and free community sessions such as parent and baby groups and youth groups.
