The SLTN Award-winning owners of The Crab & Lobster Fish Shack in South Queensferry are giving back to their community by supporting the local youth football team.
The Coghill family, whose Dunfermline eatery Jack ‘O’ Bryan’s was last month named SLTN Restaurant of the Year (Casual Dining), is supporting the Kirkliston & South Queensferry Football Club 2009, supplying branded strips to its Galaxy and Rapids teams.
A registered charity, KSQ FC was formed in 1991 with the aim of promoting the benefits of football, teamwork, and community involvement. Currently with over 1000 members, the club is supported by more than 100 volunteer coaches, and welcomes children from ages 5 and up.
Every year it starts a new age group, so there’s always a pathway for kids to get involved and progress through the club – and always a demand for new strips!
Competing in the South East Region Youth Football League, KSQ’s Rapids had a fantastic season last year, winning their league title and league cup in Division 4.
Bryan Coghill said: “It is our pleasure to lend our support to KSQ FC. As a new business that’s currently still bedding into the local community here in South Queensferry, we are keen to give back.

“So far, we’ve been welcomed with open arms, and appreciate the custom from local people as we have been establishing our new sit down fish and chip restaurant, and take away service.
“The head coach contacted us, and it was our pleasure to provide branded strips. We will continue to support KSQ FC all we can in the coming months.”
The aforementioned KSQ FC head coach is Denis Staskewitsch, who said: “We are extremely grateful to Bryan and the team at The Crab & Lobster for their support.
“They are one of two local South Queensferry businesses that have contributed to the costs of new strips, along with fundraising that we do ourselves at the club. Help like this is very much appreciated. The strips will be worn with pride as we continue the season.”

Denis added: “The Crab & Lobster Fish Shack is a fantastic addition to South Queensferry’s dining scene. It’s great to see something positive come out of the old Frankie & Benny’s site, and we are particularly pleased to hear that the restaurant was named Restaurant of the Year in the recent Forth Awards.”
