Innis & Gunn open 700-head festive beer hall on Glasgow Green

With George Square out of commission for refurbishment, Glasgow’s festive season fan-zone has this year been transplanted east to occupy Glasgow Green.

Opening today (Friday November 21st) Winter Wonderland on The Green will feature the city’s biggest ever festive beer hall, operated by Scottish brewer Innis & Gunn.

The 700-capacity space, with long tables, fairy lights and ‘a relaxed, sociable vibe’ inside, and fire-pits outside, will feature daily live music, festive cocktails and food from local providers Cromars Fish and Chips and Dockyard Social.

Entertainment programming will include pub quizzes every Monday with Goose’s Quiz, Trad Thursdays, and nightly acoustic sets covering festive favourites.

Founder and master brewer at Innis & Gunn, Dougal Sharp, said: “Scotland does winter better than anywhere, and this is it at its best.

“Great beer, great food, great music, all under one roof, right in the heart of Glasgow.

“We’re proud to be pouring our award-winning beers at the city’s biggest festive beer hall, and to be bringing a real taste of Scottish hospitality to Winter Wonderland on The Green.”

The wider Winter Wonderland at Glasgow Green, is run by Scotland’s Theme Park Events, and will feature an open-air ice rink, family rides, the Mad Mouse rollercoaster, and the Venetian Flying Chairs.

The Winter Beer Hall is free to enter and will be open from 3–10pm Monday to Friday and 12–10pm at weekends.
