Flight Club Edinburgh is the latest venue to be awarded a Wellness Charter by Hospitality Health, the Scottish charity dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of people working in hospitality & tourism.
The charity’s mission is to change the way the industry thinks about mental health, encouraging employers to acquire the tools and skills needed to properly recognise and understand stress amongst their workforce.
Founded over six years ago by Gordon McIntyre, Hospitality Health has since awarded several organisations its Wellness Charter, with Flight Club Edinburgh now joining that certified elite.
Speaking at the presentation, sales and events manager Phoebe Askham said: “We are extremely delighted to be awarded the charter from Hospitality Health. We have been working hard to keep the wellbeing of our team at the forefront, this confirms the great work we have been doing.
“Gordon and the team at Hospitality Health are so passionate about helping those that work in the industry by providing invaluable information to anyone that may be facing work or personal worries,” said Askham.

“We have communicated the Hospitality Health website to all our team, and will continue to remind them that there is a wider support network of like-minded professionals who they can connect with should they wish.
“This is a fantastic charity that is current and definitely needed in an industry that whilst is very rewarding can be very tough!”
McIntyre added: “What we are trying to achieve with Hospitality Health is to equip our industry with the right tools and mental health first aid certificate training to not only address mental health but to put staff welfare first.
“We launched Hospitality Health in Glasgow over six years ago with 100 operators in attendance and we have grown considerably, with a real need for mental health support.”
