Following a full venue makeover and rebrand led by Lomond Leisure Group, in collaboration with Star Pubs, the Glasgow west end unit once occupied by McPhabbs has officially opened as Gael & Grain.
Described as a contemporary Scottish pub and dining experience, offering ‘a warm welcome steeped in heritage, flavour, and charm’, Gael & Grain can cater for 65 covers in the main pub, plus a 30-seat private dining room.
Guests can also book a dedicated events space, A Chuilidh — Gaelic for The Secret Hiding Place — or seek sunshine in the dog-friendly outdoor beer garden.
The menu at Gael & Grain is focused on locally sourced ingredients, and promises to champion Scottish produce from lunch through to dinner. It features ‘traditional homecooked favourites with playful twists’ like Haggis Tikka Masala and Irn Bru Cheesecake.
The venue also features a ‘standout selection of Scottish whisky and gin’.
Lomond Leisure wants entertainment to play a major role at Gael & Grain, with weekly comedy shows hosted in the Comedy Lounge in partnership with Good Egg Comedy, to add a cultural edge to the venue’s offering.
Chief marketing officer of Lomond Leisure Group, Sophie Mallon, said: “We are absolutely delighted to see this project come to fruition in conjunction with Star Pubs.
“Gael & Grain represents a celebration of Scottish heritage through food, drink, and music. This collaboration has allowed us to create a unique space that truly embodies the spirit of Scotland, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone to experience it.”
