Perth Cocktail Week is returning to the ‘Fair City’ for a second year, following the success of last year’s inaugural event.

Taking place from Friday May 23rd to Sunday June 1st, it is anticipated that 25+ venues across the city will be taking part, offering £5 signature cocktails and range of other offers to guests crossing their threshold whilst wearing a Perth Cocktail Week wristband.

As is the case with similar initiatives in other Scottish cities, the event is intended to drive footfall into Perth’s restaurants, bars and cafés, while showcasing everything that the city centre has to offer.

Organisers have highlighted the £261,920 direct economic impact generated for the local economy by Year 1 of Perth Cocktail Week, in acknowledgement of which this second year is being partnered by Perth and Kinross Council and Stagecoach.

Perth venues already signed up include Crido’s, Old Ship Inn, That Bar Lounge, Kisa’s, Brown & Blacks, The Bank Bar, Sandeman, Broth3rs Restaurant, and the Salutation Hotel.

Event organiser and director of M.ad Agency, Alice Christison, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be back in the city for the second year of this exciting event!

“Year 2 of Perth Cocktail Week will be bigger and better; we’re thrilled that Perth & Kinross Council are behind the event to drive support to the city centre and its venues.

“Our Cocktail and Restaurant Week concepts work well,” said Christison. “They draw new people into the area, offer a fresh incentive to drive traffic and footfall for hospitality businesses and give the public a way to help support their favourite venues without spending too much money.

“We love the passion from the Council for this project and they should be praised for actively supporting local business and driving footfall into the town centre,” she added. “Hospitality has been faced with many challenges these past few years, but initiatives like Cocktail Week really have helped increase footfall during traditionally quieter periods.”

Perth and Kinross Council economy and infrastructure convener Councillor Eric Drysdale said: “The first Perth Cocktail week was a huge success and I am sure this year will be even more successful.

“It’s a great way for people to have fun and show support for local businesses. We’re lucky to have such a great range of restaurants and bars in Perth and Kinross the Perth Cocktail Week is a great opportunity for people to revisit their favourite venues – or try somewhere new.”
