Competitive socialising arrives in Ayrshire next month, with the opening of Golf-X, a new sports entertainment venue in Ayr town centre.

Situated on the town’s Arthur Street, Golf-X promises to combine ‘state-of-the-art’ golf and darts simulators with ‘outstanding dining and an exceptional bar concept’ when it opens to the public on Saturday 12 April, 2025.

Founded by Cristiano Simeone and Scott Hannah, the new venture is said to be the result of a six-figure investment in transforming the space, which was previously the Arthur Street Kitchen.

The centrepiece of the completed venue will be two ‘world-leading’ Trackman Golf Simulators, alongside three premium digital darts oches and an 80-seater bar area.

Following a reportedly significant kitchen investment, the new venue will also offer an extensive bar menu, as well as a 40-cover restaurant that will specialise in steak frites and chateaubriand sharing plates.

Co-founder Simeone said: “Golf-X is set to revolutionise Ayr’s social scene, bringing a completely new and exciting entertainment experience to the area.

“We wanted to create a venue that blends cutting-edge sports technology with a vibrant, social atmosphere – something that simply doesn’t exist here yet,” he claimed.

“We’ve created a really unique space which we believe people in Ayrshire are really going to enjoy, whether they are avid sports fans or are just out for a social gathering with friends,” said Simeone.

“Our golf simulators seat up to ten people, while our dart bays can host up to six, so whether you want to come along and perfect your skills or simply have a great time with your friends over some brilliant food and drinks, then this will be the place to be.”

Outfitted with dark paneling, brown leather booth seating, high-top tables and multiple TV screens for broadcasting live sports, the venue has plenty of space for guests to enjoy both games nights and social gatherings. There are also plans to launch a beer garden to the rear of the venue in the spring.

Cristiano continued: “We believe Golf-X is really going to be a gamechanger for Ayrshire and beyond.

“People are looking for something different when they go out now. They want more than just a meal or a few drinks – they want an experience.

“We’re bringing something totally fresh that’s going to transform the social scene in Ayr, and we can’t wait for people to come and experience it for themselves.”

The new venue expects to create around 30 jobs, and is currently hiring for a variety of roles, including front-of-house, supervisors, bar managers and a range of kitchen positions, including senior chefs. For more information email: scott@golfx-ayr.co.uk
