Glasgow’s famous Platform venue – formerly The Arches – has officially returned to independent local ownership, it was announced on Wednesday (March 12).

In a brief statement, it was revealed that, following 15 months under the ownership of London-based event management group Camm & Hooper, ‘previous owners’ have now stepped in to take control of the space.

The statement also said that the venue, under Glasgow’s Central Station, will now operate ‘exclusively as an event space, continuing its legacy as a dynamic destination for private and corporate gatherings’.

Under Camm & Hooper, parts of the Platform space had been functioning as a public bar-restaurant.
All scheduled gigs, including the Glasgow Comedy Festival, New World and full corporate schedule ‘will go ahead as planned’.
