Ahead of this year’s London debut of the BCB international bar and beverage trade show, the exhibition brand is going on the road around the UK to offer the hospitality community a sample of its drinks education programme.
Founded as Bar Convent Berlin, the original BCB has grown into a truly huge annual event that brings together Europe’s top drinks producers and purveyors in Germany’s capital city to make new contacts, find out about the latest products and attend educational seminars.
BCB has since expanded its global network with further shows in Brooklyn, São Paulo, Singapore and, for the first time later this year, London.
To give British and Irish bar communities a flavour of what visitors to the summer bar show can expect, the ‘BCB London Roadshow’ is touring the country this spring with some exclusive, educational events for hospitality professionals.
The roadshow will stop in six cities – Manchester, on February 24th; Edinburgh on February 25th; Birmingham on March 24th; Cardiff on March 25th; Dublin on March 31st; and Belfast on April 1st.
BCB London brand ambassador and bar expert, Jack Sotti, and BCB director of education, Angus Winchester, have promised to assemble a ‘high-calibre’ line up of speakers and well-known bar professionals for this taster tour.
Sotti said: “BCB London is not just for bar professionals from the English capital but aims to bring together the entire hospitality community from across the whole of the UK and Ireland.
“With the BCB London Roadshow, we have the opportunity to reach everyone in the industry more effectively, while offering insightful talks and workshops in the run up to the main event in the summer.”
BCB director Petra Lassahn added: “The BCB brand is renowned for its high-quality education programme and offers unique networking opportunities for drink and bar professionals.
“We want to drive greater awareness of BCB London, and ensure these opportunities are accessible across the entire breadth of the UK and Ireland.”
Venues already confirmed for the roadshow include Edinburgh’s Panda and Sons.
Organisers stress that the BCB London Roadshow is open to everyone who works in the hospitality industry across the UK and Ireland, who can register in advance at barconventlondon.com, completely free of charge, and specify their preferred city. But places are very limited, so it will pay to be quick.
The inaugural BCB London will take place on June 30th and July 1st at Tobacco Dock, Wapping, in London’s east end.
