Glasgow bartender Elyse Von Ruinn has been named as the winner of the first ever cocktail competition for mixers brand Franklin & Sons.
The Flavour in Motion competition challenged bartenders from across the UK to recreate the first cocktail they ever learned to make behind the bar.
The brand team narrowed the entries to 25 and then visited each competitor in their venue, before narrowing the list again to ten finalists.
Each finalist was then invited to Dram in London to compete in the grand final of the competition.
Elyse won over the judging panel with their ‘Flip & Sip’ creation – a take on a Cheeky Vimto.
“Flavour in Motion is a celebration of bartenders, their journey and their stories – something which the judges agreed that Elyse embodied fully in their presentation, showcasing everything that the competition is about,” Franklin & Sons global brand ambassador, David Robinson, told SLTN.
“Their serve, ‘Flip and Sip’, was a riff on the Cheeky Vimto, which excited the judges and showcased amazing technique, an understanding of flavour and importantly, a great sense of humour.’
