ABOUT MAKAI SPICED RUM
Launched by Kingfisher drinks in 2022, Makai spiced rum was inspired by the spirit of Polynesia, a region of over 1000 islands stretching from Hawaii in the North to New Zealand in the South.
Makai is a tribute to this region’s rich Tiki heritage, with warm spices and dark molasses echoing the taste of Polynesian cuisine and balmy, tropical lands.
Makai means ‘towards the ocean’ in Polynesia, and this spiced rum has brought something fresh and exhilarating to the category, with a blend of pot and column-still rums which deliver flavours of rich, dark molasses elevated with a unique blend of Polynesian spices, including Vanilla, Ginger, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Cloves and tropical fruits.
The distinctive black bottle offers great stand out behind the bar, with a neck label featuring the tag line ‘a tropical escape at the pull of a cork’. Makai is best served neat or simply with either premium cola or ginger ale, with some cocktail serves too.
