Britvic launches new mixed drinks training platform for barstaff

Britvic has launched a fresh initiative to make itself a ‘valuable drinks partner’ for bartenders at every stage of their career.

The firm’s new online training platform, ‘Mix with Britvic’, is described as providing ‘comprehensive and industry-leading training’ for bartenders and hospitality professionals.

Socialising brand director at Britvic, Carly Sims, said: “Creating Mix with Britvic was a natural step forward for us as we identified an opportunity to equip bartenders with drinks inspiration and training to succeed.

“Our aim is to support outlets and passionate bartenders across the sector to inspire and provide actionable advice that will make an impact. We are committed to playing our part in the industry, leveraging the unique role Britvic can play in equipping bartenders with the knowledge and inspiration they need to create even more memorable mixed drink serves.

“Mix with Britvic is a free-to-access training platform that will empower bartenders to create memorable consumer drinks experiences from morning through to evening.”

The company’s research has identified two industry trends in support of its training push. Firstly, 76% of bartenders are open to engaging with brands and training, to elevate their mixed drink skills and further their careers. Secondly, consumers are increasingly seeking more memorable experiences, with 65% of consumers open to bartenders’ recommendations to provide them.

So its digital training platform is intended to equip bartenders with the skills to elevate mixed drinks using the vast Britvic portfolio to create over 10,000 serves, from morning coffees and smoothies, through to evening cocktails and mocktails.

Spotlighting five core brands – London Essence Company, Mathieu Teisseire, R. White’s, Britvic, and Pepsi – the platform also features educational videos on everything from how to create the perfect Mojito, through to advice on what garnish and glassware to use.

“We are in a unique position to offer the full package when it comes to serve inspiration with everything from mixers through to syrups and will act as a valuable drinks partner for bartenders at every stage of their career,” said Sims.

“We are looking forward to helping provide greater value, better choice, and increased revenue through an elevated mixed drinks experience.”

The training platform has been created in collaboration with a team of brand ambassadors, Hedonist Drinks, who are trained mixology experts with years of experience in the hospitality sector.

Mix with Britvic will also offer bartenders the chance to receive an accreditation, in partnership with the British Institute of Innkeeping (BII), signifying their expertise in mixology.
