Get yourself to Glasgow for a ‘deep dive’ into modern whisky and spirits

This weekend will see the Scottish National Whisky Festival return to Glasgow, occupying the SWG3 events space for two sessions on Saturday 27th January as part of the wider Celtic Connections programme of events.

Since its last Glasgow appearance early in 2023, the SNWF has had successful stints in Inverness, Aberdeen and Edinburgh, so returns to SWG3 with the wind in its sails and a well-filled exhibitor list, with hundreds of whiskies and other spirits to sample.

“From delicate and approachable drams to peat-powered favourites; well known core releases to brand new and hard to find editions, festival exhibitors will be on hand to inform and ultimately guide beginners and enthusiasts alike as they embark on their unique tasting journey,” said SNWF’s organisers.

“Festival goers will also be able to enjoy an enticing range of guest spirits, including rum, liqueurs and more, alongside a specially-curated pop-up cocktail bar and food pairings.”

The SNWF is also conceived as a celebration of live Scottish music, so there will be a free public concert held throughout the day at SWG3, programmed in collaboration with Celtic Connections.

There will, of course, also be an on-site whisky shop, courtesy of the festival’s partner retailers, Robbie’s Whisky Merchants.
