HIT Scotland has hosted its annual Edinburgh Lunch, raising no less than £69,000 for the charity, which provides ‘inspirational’ scholarship opportunities to those in the hospitality industry.
The sell-out event attracted 450 industry professionals from across Scotland, including Hotelier of the Year, Conor O’Leary.
The lunch, which took place at The Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, Edinburgh, was led by MC & auctioneer Radio Forth One DJ ‘Boogie’, with guest speaker racing driver Nicolas Hamilton, who received a standing ovation for his inspirational story.
The menu for the event was created by Executive Chef Shaun Woodhouse – mackerel and Parma ham with citrus brioche sandwich, beetroot, cucumber and fennel salad, confit lemon and a parsley caper cream; pheasant duo with elderberries, cavolo nero, heritage carrot, wild mushrooms, garlic potato, cocoa nib crumb, and Famous Grouse sauce; and a dessert of Edinburgh Gold beer and chocolate fondant, hazelnut ice cream, scotch oats, pickled apricots.
