SpiritFEST showcases whisky and gin in Stirling this autumn

SPIRITS will be at the heart of a ten-day programme of events in Stirling later this year.

Stirling SpiritFEST 2023 will run from Friday 27th October until Sunday 5th November and incorporate both the Stirling Gin and Stirling Whisky festivals as well as various other activities and events.

Both festivals are well established in the city, with the whisky festival having taken place since 2012 and the gin festival launched in 2014.

The joint festival will feature exhibitors including Stirling Distillery, Rock Rose, Gin Bothy, Downpour and Marussia Beverages, as well as a range of spirits and cocktail masterclasses and other events taking place across Stirling.

The Stirling Gin Festival will take place on Saturday 28th October at the Golden Lion Hotel, with the whisky festival taking place at the hotel the following Saturday, 4th November.

Both gin and whisky festivals are comprised of two sessions – a morning session and an afternoon session – lasting three and a half hours each.

Tickets to the gin festival are priced at ÂŁ27.54 each, with whisky festival tickets costing ÂŁ32.93.

Events in the intervening time include gin tastings and ghost walks from the Old Town Jail and Stirling Distillery, respectively, as well as a whisky tasting event at Angels’ Share in nearby Bridge of Allan.

Festival organiser – and Stirling Distillery co-founder – June McCann, said the inaugural SpiritFEST last year “was a massive success with people travelling from across the UK to attend our events”.

“As well as our gin and whisky festivals, we will host a range of intimate events over the 10 days including our spooky gin tasting and ghost walk at the Old Town Jail, a glass blowing and whisky tasting evening with Angels’ Share glass and a rum event too!”
