Only A Pavement Away, the industry charity that helps prison leavers, veterans and those facing homelessness to find employment in the hospitality sector, has reached the impressive milestone of placing 300 members into work since the charity’s founding, five years ago.

This news comes as OAPA welcomes hospitality recruitment platform Caterer.com onboard as its first Events & Campaigns partner.

Ongoing support from businesses such as Caterer.com has been vital in OAPA’s work and will be fundamental in the charity achieving its long term goal of dramatically ramping up over the next five years to place 5000 people into meaningful employment.

Caterer.com brand director Kathy Dyball said: “Working with Only A Pavement Away has always been an obvious decision for us as the charity’s purpose aligns perfectly with our values.

“Nurturing an inclusive workplace and engaging talent in underrepresented groups is crucial for the success of the sector, and Caterer.com is committed to continuing to support hospitality leaders in achieving this goal.

“Formalising our partnership with Only A Pavement Away is a vital step in our mission to promote the value of hiring a broad range of talent in hospitality, from experienced hires to entry level roles.”

CEO & Founder of OAPA, Greg Mangham, added: “Caterer.com has long been a great supporter of Only A Pavement Away and I’m delighted the team has now formalised this partnership.

“With their help, we will be able to more effectively campaign and deliver compelling events that bring the industry together to aid prison leavers, veterans and those facing homelessness. We are a young charity but an ambitious one, and the support offered by Caterer.com over the next two years will be monumental in reaching our long-term goals.”
