BAILEYS, the Irish cream liqueur owned by Diageo, has been granted B Corp certification for the various sustainability initiatives it has introduced to its supply chain.
The B Corp scheme recognises companies and brands for their environmental and sustainability practices. For Baileys, Diageo has reduced the amount of water used in the brand’s production and also uses 100% renewable electricity in the production process.
The company also works with farmer-owned co-operative, Tirlán, to support the Irish dairy farmers who produce the brand’s key ingredient. The steps were taken as part of Diageo’s wider Spirit of Progress sustainability plan.
“While this is an important milestone for Baileys, we know that there is more we can do,” said Baileys brand director, Jennifer English. “We are already looking forward to the delivery of more initiatives as we journey towards our 2030 commitments.”
