A malt bottled with dignity

A NEW independent whisky bottler in Glasgow has teamed with legendary Scottish band Deacon Blue to release a limited edition single malt.

The single cask whisky, named Born in a Storm, was distilled on Orkney and matured for 13 years before being finished in an oloroso sherry cask.

The 853 individually-numbered bottles were released to mark the 35th anniversary of the Glasgow band’s debut album, Raintown.

The band described the whisky as “a bold and enduring spirit which serves as an apt reflection of the people and places it was inspired by and a perfect accompaniment to the record”.

The bottling also marks the first release from Caskade, a new Glasgow-based independent bottler.
