A monster opportunity

Fort Augustus-based Cruise Loch Ness was established in 1968.

A TOURISM business on the banks of Loch Ness is for sale for the first time in its 54-year history.

Based in Fort Augustus, Cruise Loch Ness was established in 1968 and has remained in the same family ownership ever since.

Originally offering visitor cruises on Loch Ness with a former lifeboat carrying only 12 passengers, the business has expanded down the years to a fleet of four vessels: flagship vessel The Spirit of Loch Ness, which can accommodate up to 210 passengers; The Legend of Loch Ness, which has a capacity of 108; and two Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs), which can carry 12 passengers each.

There is also an opportunity for the purchaser of the business to be given the opportunity to acquire detached five/six-bedroom owner’s accommodation around a mile from Fort Augustus.

Richard Prestwich of property firm Savills, which is marketing Cruise Loch Ness, said: “It is recognised as one of the leading tourist attractions in Scotland and we expect significant interest.”
