Fourth Rose to bloom in the UK

THE ‘fourth rose’ in the Four Roses bourbon range has been launched, completing the brand’s line-up in the UK.

Two years after it was launched in the US, Four Roses Small Batch Select has been introduced to the UK – the only market outside its homeland where the expression is available.

The first non-chill filtered bourbon to be added to the distillery’s permanent line-up, Four Roses Small Batch Select has an ABV of 52% and is described as having flavours of apricot, ripe berries, vanilla and light oak on the palate, and a lingering finish with notes of spearmint and cinnamon.

Small Batch Select, which is distributed in the UK by Spirit Cartel, is said to represent the most significant addition to Four Roses since master distiller Brent Elliott took up the role in 2015.

Elliott said Small Batch Select “showcases bourbon recipes and flavours that aren’t as forward-facing in the rest of our line-up”.

“It’s an extension of what we do well at Four Roses – balancing candied fruit with warmth and spice, and enjoyable to both connoisseurs and casual drinkers alike,” he said.
