Breath of fresh Ayr after 50 years

AN Ayrshire hotel is up for sale more than 50 years after the current owner established the business.

The Abbotsford Hotel was founded in 1966 and is said to have undergone “countless renovations and extensions” down the years, including upgrades to the Copper Bar, which is said to be popular with locals.

Described as a “stunning” property, the hotel comprises 14 bedrooms, a function room and a dining area which can accommodate 70 covers.

Bruce & Co, which is marketing The Abbotsford Hotel due to the owner’s retirement, said the sale represents an “exemplary opportunity to acquire a charming hotel steeped in history”.
