Fine dining by the Campsies

A CHEF who has worked at Michelin Star restaurants in the UK and France has plans to launch a new fine dining restaurant in Stirlingshire after taking on the Kirkhouse Inn in Strathblane.

Brian Home started his career at One Devonshire Gardens in Glasgow and has spent time working under acclaimed chefs including Michel Roux, Michel Guerard and Daniel Boulud before returning to Scotland.

He is currently overseeing a refurbishment of the Kirkhouse which will see the creation of a new fine dining restaurant, The Finnich. The new restaurant is due to open next month.

A general manager, Jessica Cumming, has been recruited to run the front of house operation, along with 24 members of staff.

Home said it was “easy to see the potential” offered by the property.

“We have big plans and have already invested around £100,000 in changes which customers can already see the benefits of and have overhauled the menus to ensure they are far more appealing,” said Home.

“The inn is full of historic charm, however we intend to create a very relaxed boutique interior with an element of glamorous style that will be welcoming whether you are a hill walker staying over en route, a foodie enthusiast looking for a great meal, or planning a night out for some cocktails with friends.

“We’ve adapted the space to ensure it caters for as many hospitality tastes as possible and, after so many years of working in the trade, we know the standards we want and what customers can expect.”
