BARTENDERS have the chance to win a trip to Iceland as vodka brand Reyka launches its annual cocktail competition.
The Reyka Expedition challenges competitors to create a cocktail using the Icelandic vodka and which has been inspired by “their favourite moment in nature”.
Six teams of finalists from across the UK will then be invited to the Lake District to battle it out in person, with the winning team winning a trip to Iceland and Reyka brand owner William Grant & Sons picking up the tab. The last contest, in 2019, was won by team Scotland.
The competition opened for entries yesterday (26th July) and bartenders have until 11th August to enter. Entries should be submitted, along with a picture of the finished drink and some details explaining the inspiration behind the creation, to expedition@reyka.com. The final in the Lake District will take place on 6th and 7th September.
“We want bartenders to really let their creativity run wild this year,” said Reyka brand ambassador, Fab Latham.
“They can take inspiration from their own experiences, such as sitting around a campfire, or walking through a forest after it has rained. Alternatively, they could draw inspiration from the myriad of natural processes that exist in nature – things like the changing of the seasons, ebbing tides, photosynthesis, or the weather… The possibilities are endless.”
