Crerar Hotels unveils results of Glencoe refurbishment
A HOME from home in the Highlands – that’s what Crerar Hotels has sought to create at its newly-refurbished Glencoe Inn.
The group, which operates seven hotels and inns across Scotland, reopened the Glencoe Inn following a £500,000 refurbishment which has seen all 15 guest rooms, public areas and outdoor space overhauled. The lounges and bar area feature “cosy corners” with sofas and roaring fires, while the outdoor terrace offers views of Loch Leven.
A new food and drink offer designed to showcase the best of Scottish produce was introduced for the reopening. The inn’s bar and grill, The Gathering, serves Scottish steaks and burgers alongside its “famous fish and chip suppers”; while grass-fed Scottish beef and venison from the Crerar Home Farm and fresh seafood from the surrounding lochs feature on the new Steak & Lobster Bistro menu. And the inn will launch its Red Shed Pizzas offer this summer – the sourdough-based pizzas will be made with hybrid yeast in a new outdoor wood-fired oven, which can be enjoyed within the gardens or for takeaway.
Chris Wayne-Wills, chief executive of Crerar Hotels, said: “We’re thrilled on two counts – reopening our doors to welcome guests and showcasing the results of an outstanding refurbishment.
“Despite the challenges of the past year, we have created a home from home experience against the backdrop of one of Scotland’s most famous landscapes – exactly what we were determined to do when the investment was secured.
“The sumptuous interiors have been created with true Scottish hospitality in mind, and the result is the absolute definition of low-key luxury that we’re confident our guests will love.”
