TASTINGS, cooking demonstrations and cocktail masterclasses are among the events that will shape this year’s Paisley Food and Drink Festival.

The nine-day festival, taking place online between 16th April and 24th April, will include a range of interactive activities hosted by local food and drink businesses.

Examples include a virtual gin tasting hosted by Paisley bar Gantry, which attendees will be able to participate in by ordering tasting kits, a rum tasting from The Rum Shack, cocktail masterclasses hosted by venues including Gantry, The Gleniffer Hotel and The Swan, and cooking demonstrations in association with Zero Waste Scotland.

Food and drink businesses in Renfrewshire will also be able to put forward special dishes or deals for the festival through takeaway website Paisley Eats.

“We are delighted to be back with a digital festival for 2021 that enables more people and more local businesses to get involved,” said Louisa Mahon, head of marketing, communications and events at Renfrewshire Council.

“This year’s programme has something for all ages and all pockets, with nine days of interactive activity from cooking demos to virtual tastings and brilliant ideas to get families cooking together.

“We will be shining a spotlight on the exceptional food and drink offer in Renfrewshire – just as restrictions ease and our hospitality sector begins to reopen so the timing is perfect. We are asking everyone to join us online, stay local and spend local.”
