Six by Nico expands online service

GLASGOW-based restaurant group Six by Nico has expanded its Home-X e-commerce platform this month with the addition of several new food offers.

The home delivery service, launched last year in response to the pandemic, has been bolstered by the addition of new brands developed by chefs Joe Lazzerini and David Miller as well as cheesemonger Stephen Sweet.

Lazzerini, co-owner of Glasgow restaurant The Loveable Rogue, has developed the Roast brand to offer customers “a refined version of the classic British staple”. The Home-X menu will include roast chicken or beef with accompaniments including caramelised cauliflower and apple velouté with curry oil and fresh apple, cauliflower cheese with cheddar cheese and herb crumb or roast potatoes with beef fat, garlic and rosemary.

Lobster Inc, a new brand developed by Home-X chef David Miller, is being promoted as the “perfect dining experience for a special occasion”. Each box will include two whole lobsters served with a Vietnamese dressing and side dishes including warm parmentier potato salad and Asian style noodle salad with cucumber, chilli and coriander. The food will be paired with a bottle of Montresor Prosecco.

And a new addition to the Six by Nico group, The Cheese Club Shop, will also be available through Home-X.

The shop is due to open at the end of the month in the former Fopp Music store on Byres Road in Glasgow’s west end and its product range will be available online through Home-X.

The selection, curated by cheesemonger Stephen Sweet, will include a range of cheeses, chutneys, crackers, olives and cured meats.

The shop itself will also feature a deli counter offering hot and cold food.

Six by Nico founder, Nico Simeone, said: “Plans to develop and grow Six by Nico, in both physical and virtual markets, will be announced later this year.

“We’ve always had big ambitions to grow our portfolio and open new restaurant brands throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland. Our journey started in Glasgow’s west end, and the community we first served is vital to our organisation’s development plans. We hope our customers are as excited as we are about The Cheese Club shop pop-up opening this month and our restaurant plans for the location on Byres Road later this year.”
