TEQUILA brand Rooster Rojo is marking World Bartender Day (24th February) by encouraging consumers to show appreciation for bartenders when the trade is able to reopen.
A series of ‘top tips’ from the brand range from politeness – “’please’ and ‘thankyou’ are both really valued” – to practical considerations like ordering all drinks at once, rather than one at a time, and telling the bartender at an early stage if a bill is going to be split between various people.
Consumers are also encouraged to promote bartenders and venues on their social media accounts, ask bartenders for opinions and advice on their favourite drinks and tip generously, as well as to support any campaigns that help out of work or furloughed bartenders.
“During my 25 years in the industry, I have met hundreds of bartenders and we have exchanged many interesting stories,” said global brand ambassador Ansis Ancovs. “Repeatedly I have heard that bartenders often feel unappreciated and this is something we would like to change.”
