Deadline to apply for top-up grants is 5th February

OPERATORS on the mainland have until tomorrow (5th February) to apply for the Scottish Government’s Strategic Framework Business Fund top-up grants.

Under the scheme, hospitality businesses can apply for a one-off grant of £25,000 for premises with a rateable value (RV) of £51,101 or more, or a grant of £6000 for premises with an RV up to and including £51,000.

First minister Nicola Sturgeon said today (4th February) that businesses already receiving monthly temporary closure grants under the Strategic Framework Business Fund (of £2000 or £3000 every four weeks) should receive the top-up grants automatically. But she urged any businesses that have not to apply by 5th February.

“For businesses on the mainland – there are slightly longer timescales to apply for the special islands funding – but for businesses on the mainland the deadline for applying for these top-up grants is tomorrow,” she said.

“Let me be clear, if you have already applied to the Strategic Framework Business Fund you don’t need to reapply; if you are currently receiving monthly payments you will get these top-up grants automatically.

“But if you are eligible for support from the Framework Fund and have not yet applied then please do so otherwise you risk missing out.”
