Belhaven extends rent concession to Scottish pubs

BELHAVEN Pub Partners, the leased and tenanted arm of Belhaven, has announced that it will continue to offer a 90% rent concession to any Scottish tenants in areas with level two, three or four restrictions.

Under the Scottish Government’s levels system of COVID-19 restrictions premises in level two can only sell alcohol indoors with a main meal (alcohol can be sold in outdoor areas as normal). In level three premises can only open until 6pm and the sale of alcohol is prohibited, and level four restrictions require all premises to close.

The company, which has an estate of 120 leased and tenanted pubs in Scotland, has also said that its tied pubs in level zero and level one areas will receive rent discounts of 45% until November 21 and 40% until Boxing Day.

“We remain determined to stand shoulder to shoulder with our partners and offering rent discounts of 90% to those facing significant trading restrictions will help provide invaluable support at this time,” said Wayne Shurvinton, managing director of Belhaven Pub Partners.

“The hospitality industry continues to face significant pressures and restrictions on trade, which comes after spending millions of pounds on making sure customers can continue to socialise in a safe and regulated environment.

“We continue to do our bit to protect our teams and partners as best as we can so we can weather this storm together and hopefully be in the strongest position possible to recover our businesses in the future.”
