Buzzworks was made for walking

STAFF at Buzzworks Holdings have raised more than £900 for trade charity Hospitality Action through a series of sponsored virtual walks.

The group’s people and operations teams kicked off the activities by collectively walking, running and cycling the equivalent to the distance between all Buzzworks venues across the central belt – the equivalent of 16 marathons.

With that goal achieved, the company’s venue teams took up the baton, clocking up the equivalent distance between Lands End and John O’ Groats.

Carole Lamond, people director at Buzzworks Holdings, said: “Hospitality Action is our Buzzworks charity for the year and it’s great to see that lockdown hasn’t slowed down our fundraising efforts for such an important cause.

“Keeping our teams engaged and encouraging a healthy mind-set has been a priority for us and it’s been great to see so many people getting involved with our fundraisers and cheering each other on.

“We subscribe to the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) from Hospitality Action on behalf of our people, which allows them access to impartial advice, support and services 24/7, free of charge.

“It’s fantastic to raise money for Hospitality Action especially during a time when the charity is a lifeline for so many within the industry.”
