BAR staff will be able to use a new mobile training app to sharpen their beer and cider knowledge ahead of venues reopening.
The newly-launched Hello Beer app was created by Heineken in conjunction with Hello Forward and contains eight courses consisting of a combination of videos, challenges and exercises. Topics range from different beer and cider types to cellar maintenance and glassware.
Heineken claims that by maintaining clean wines and reducing wastage, pubs can generate an extra ÂŁ25,000 in profit every year.
Businesses can register their staff details on the Hello Beer website with staff then receiving an SMS message with a unique code which allows them to download the app. There is a two-month free trial with users able to cancel at any time.
Heineken category and trade marketing director, Jerry Shedden, described the app as “the perfect training tool to enhance your beer and cider knowledge and ultimately sell more pints, making your outlet more profitable upon reopening”.
