Coronavirus: The Ben and Drinks Trust relief fund extended

Coronavirus

THE deadline for applications for a new fund for bar and restaurant staff who have lost their jobs as a result of the coronavirus crisis has been extended until 7pm on Tuesday April 14.

The Drinks Trust COVID-19 Relief Fund, which is being administered in Scotland by The Ben, is open to full and part-time workers who have worked in the industry for a minimum of two years and who have either been made redundant and not furloughed; or been on a zero-hours contract working limited hours. The fund has also been extended to those who work seasonally, including those who, as a result, were not employed on February 28, meaning that they are not included in the government furlough scheme.

Qualifying applicants will receive a one-off grant of £250 paid directly into their bank account.

The Drinks Trust said the application form will remain open until 7pm on Tuesday April 14 or until 10,000 applications have been received.
