SCOTLAND’S booming food and drink industry is to be showcased at a new exhibition in May.

Scotland’s Spirit Exchange will take place at Edinburgh Corn Exchange on May 30 and 31 and will focus on the country’s growing spirits industry.

The inaugural event will feature local spirit distilleries alongside up-and-coming names from the food and drinks industry across Scotland; attendees will also be able to enjoy sampling sessions and live entertainment.

Exhibitors are expected to span whisky, gin, rum and vodka.

Owner of the Edinburgh Corn Exchange, Paul DeMarco, said he plans to deliver an “unparalleled experience” for visitors to the event.

He said: “This is an unmissable opportunity for Scottish brands to showcase their product at an event that promises to be quite unlike any other.

“For visitors, it offers a rare chance to enjoy a diverse selection of spirits, food and entertainment all under one roof, and for exhibitors, we’re confident it could prove to be a valuable and lucrative way of connecting with a genuinely engaged audience.”

The event will be promoted ahead of time via a multi-platform marketing campaign that will include social media, emails to the venue’s database members and targeted advertising activity.

Scotland’s Spirit Exchange is the latest drinks event from the Corn Exchange. Last year it scooped the Gin Event of the Year trophy at the Scottish Gin Awards for its Big Gin Festival.
