GLASGOW licensee Billy Gold had the Midas touch last month as he rounded off 2019 by winning a limited edition bottle of 50 year old Whyte & Mackay.
Billy, who owns the Hielan Jessie pub on Gallowgate, took the spoils in a prize draw at the Tennent’s Trade Show, winning the special Whyte & Mackay bottling.
As part of its 175th anniversary, Whyte & Mackay released a limited edition 50 year old blended Scotch whisky, describing the 44.6% ABV liquid as “the most complex and amazing blend we’ve ever bottled”.
