THE couple behind the North Uist Distillery have released a new, seasonal variant of their Downpour gin.

Featuring the same botanicals as the distillery’s original gin, Downpour Sloe & Bramble is aged in bourbon casks and utilises seasonal ingredients, such as sloe berries and locally sourced brambles.

Owners, Jonny Ingledew, and Kate MacDonald, opened the craft gin distillery in 2017 and are natives to the Hebridean island.

Ingledew, who is also the facility’s master distiller, said: “We are so grateful to our customers for the huge success of Downpour. It continues to sell really well.

“We can’t wait for our customers to enjoy the ‘Downpour’ Christmas special.”

Creative director, MacDonald, said: “We are really proud of the effort which has gone into creating it. We want our customers to have a special seasonal spirit to sip, to impress their guests and to savour.”
