All change at helm of Hamilton pub
THE Libertine in Hamilton has a fresh operator at the helm after a new lease was agreed via property firm Smith & Clough.
The wet-led pub, located within the busy licensed circuit on the town’s Castle Street, is said to be ideally positioned close to Hamilton Park Racecourse and a University of the West of Scotland campus.
Purchased by multiple operator Manorview Hotels & Leisure Group in 2014, the pub subsequently underwent an extensive refurbishment.
While the venue’s traditional features were retained, the revamp gave the 50-cover bar a modern design, including a large wooden bar and gantry, as well as a free-standing DJ booth.
The pub also features bi-fold doors, which open directly onto Castle Street; and an outdoor seating area, said to be popular with drinkers during the summer.
There’s an opportunity to build the pub’s sales further by reintroducing a food offer.
Graeme Smith, director of Smith & Clough, which handled the sale of the lease, said: “We were delighted once again to act on behalf of Manorview Hotels & Leisure Group – this time in the disposal of the leasehold interest of this well-established and busy pub located on Castle Street in Hamilton.
“This adds to our recent success within the public house market in the Lanarkshire area.”
Offers over £30,000 were sought for the leasehold interest to the bar, with a rental of £20,000 per annum; the final sale price was not disclosed.
