Music in the cans

Drygate Cold Years
In tune: the new beer from Drygate.

MUSIC and beer have converged for the latest release from Drygate Brewing Co.

Drygate’s first small-batch beer to be released in cans, ‘Convergence: Drygate + Cold Years’ has been created to mark the release of a new single by Scottish band Cold Years.

The track is called ‘62’ (My Generation’s Falling Apart), and creative marketing director at Drygate, Rob MacKay, explained: “The 6.2% ABV Belgian IPA reflects the 62% of Scotland who voted against Brexit and to remain in the EU.

“The collaborative beer champions Scotland’s proud place in the international community amidst the nation’s current political turmoil and uncertainty.”

Cold Years, from Aberdeen, have been tipped as one of the hottest acts of the year by influential rock magazine, Kerrang!

Singer and guitarist, Ross Gordon, said: “We’ve loved collaborating on the beer and are grateful that an independent Scottish company like Drygate is backing a Scottish band.”
