WHAT’S said to be Scotland’s first ever late-night boutique bowling alley is to open its doors in Glasgow city centre today (November 21).
Operated by Ian McColm, the new Bowlarama venue on Glassford Street incorporates four “state-of-the-art” bowling lanes, an 80-cover restaurant, snug and a Tiki bar, and will open from 12 noon until 3am seven days a week serving cocktails and comfort food alongside ten pin bowling and retro arcade games.
McColm, who opened Tiki Bar and Kitsch Inn on the city’s Bath Street in 2010, said that with Bowlarama he wanted to create “a bold and fun space with a relaxed environment for Glasgow to enjoy”.
“We’ve had a fantastic response from the city,” he said. “A lot of bookings, enquiries and general excitement for the smashing of our bowling lanes.”
