THE Standing Stones Hotel on Orkney has changed hands in a deal brokered by property firm Bruce & Co.

The hotel, which has four-star VisitScotland accreditation, comprises 17 en suite letting rooms, a 100-cover restaurant and a public lounge bar.

It is also said to have the largest hotel function room on the island, with capacity for over 300 guests.

The new owner, whose background is in the energy sector, is said to have “brought a new lease of life to the business”, with a new management structure and kitchen staff in place.

The business was on the market with a guide price of £820,000 for the freehold; the final sale price was not disclosed.
