EDINBURGH restaurateurs Carina and Victor Contini reopened The Scottish Cafe & Restaurant at the Scottish National Gallery earlier this month following a major revamp.

The couple, who also own Contini on George Street and the Cannonball Restaurant & Bar on the Royal Mile, employed contractor Thomas Johnstone Ltd to carry out the seven-month refurbishment of the capital outlet, which was relaunched in time for this month’s festival.

As well as improved accessibility from Princes Street Gardens, the venue has a new-look interior which champions several Scottish designers. A terrace, which promises “stunning views over the city”, is set to open soon.
