Outstanding chef honoured

Fairlie: one of Scotland’s best

ANDREW Fairlie was described as “one of Scotland’s greatest chefs” as he was posthumously awarded Scotland Food & Drink’s Outstanding Contribution Award.

Fairlie, who passed away earlier this year, was named the recipient of the top award at the Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards in Edinburgh last week. The award was accepted by his wife, Kate.

Other winners on the night included The Three Chimneys on Skye, which won the Scottish Sourcing (Independent) award,  Harviestoun Brewery (Brewing) award and Wester Spirit Co (Distilling).
