Two Aberdeen bartenders may be London-bound for the final of No.3 Gin’s third annual Unlock Taste cocktail tournament later this month.

Jeffrey Berraoui of The Tippling House in the city, who battled out the previous heat against 12 regional competitors by creating a modern twist on the 20th Century Cocktail using No.3 Gin, secured his place and will now go head-to-head with four other regional winners at No.3 St James’s Street on May 21.

Additionally, the runner-up from each region, known as the ‘wildcard’, will present an aperitif drink to the judges the night before the final to compete for one more space; Daniel Elphinstone of Orchid is Scotland’s ‘wildcard’.

The next day all six finalists will be put through their paces by the judges, with the overall champion being crowned No.3 Gin’s Unlock Taste champion; the prize also includes a five-day stay for two in Hong Kong and the chance to lead a bar shift at one of the world’s top bars.
