VENUES in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee are gearing up to host events for rum brand Sailor Jerry this month.
The brand, which is owned by William Grant & Sons, is touring the three cities throughout March with a series of events, gigs and pop-ups.
Under the banner of SJ Presents, Sailor Jerry will host gigs at Stereo in Glasgow (March 19), La Belle Angele in Edinburgh (March 20) and Church in Dundee (March 21), with tickets to each costing £5. Local partnerships in each city will also see the brand offering discounts and free food at Pizza Punks in Glasgow, Civerinos in Edinburgh and The Giddy Goose in Dundee.
And the brand will also feature prominently in local tattoo parlours and barbers throughout the month, with various discounts and promotions available at each location.
The activity will culminate in the Sailor Jerry Castle Takeover party, to be held at an undisclosed castle later in the year. In order to win tickets to the party consumers have to snap pics of Sailor Jerry artwork, which will be on display at various venues in all three cities throughout March, and post them to Instagram with the hashtag #SJFollowtheFlash, and tagging @sailorjerry. Details of the venues are available on the Sailor Jerry website.
EmmaLi Stenhouse, UK brand ambassador for Sailor Jerry, said: “We’re so excited to take Sailor Jerry back on the road to Scotland; we feel so at home there. The City Takeovers are all about encouraging residents to get into their local pizza joints or tattoo shops and support homegrown talent. Plus, the SJ Presents gigs are going to be awesome – the headliners are some of the best bands in the UK right now. All of the people we have collaborated with for the City Takeovers live by their own rules – just like Norman Collins did.”
