All change for historic hotel

The hotel has eight letting bedrooms

A HOTEL housed in a historic building – parts of which date back to the 15th century – has changed hands.

The Cathedral House Hotel, at Cathedral Square in Glasgow city centre, benefits from its close proximity to Strathclyde University Campus, according to selling agent CDLH, which sold the hotel on behalf of owner Trust Inns.

The building, which dates from 1878 – with parts said to go back as far as 1471 – comprises a bar and restaurant over the ground and first floor, as well as eight letting bedrooms and an external beer garden.

Offers over £435,000 were sought for the property; a closing date was set and “a number of offers considerably in excess of the asking price were received”, said CDLH.

The final sales price was not disclosed.
