Coming to town: CCEP’s Designated Driver campaign for licensees launches on December 1

SOFT drinks giant CCEP is bringing back its on-trade Designated Driver campaign for the 11th year running as part of the Coca-Cola brands’s 2018 Christmas plans.

The festive push, which will be launched on December 1, is designed to enable licensees to better cater to customers who are driving over the festive season.

Describing designated drivers as the “unsung heroes of seasonal celebrations”, the campaign rewards them with a free second soft drink after buying a Coca-Cola original taste, zero sugar or Diet Coke, helping to extend dwell time for the whole party.

To kick-start the promotion operators can request a free case of Coca-Cola as well as POS kits.

The brand’s iconic Holidays Are Coming TV advert also returns this month, marking the beginning of the festive season for many.

A happy driver increases the dwell time for all party guests, keeping the tills ringing for longer.

Coca-Cola’s famous Christmas truck is currently touring the UK and has already made its stops in Scotland, having kicked-off in Glasgow earlier this month at Silverburn Shopping Centre on November 9.

Simon Harrison, customer marketing director at CCEP GB, said: “Christmas is an opportunity for licensees to maximise sales as more people visit pubs and bars.

“Our Designated Driver campaign enables licensees to connect with consumers choosing not to drink alcohol and help them to enjoy the festivities.

“After all a happy driver increases the dwell time for all party guests, keeping the tills ringing for longer.”
