Painting the town blue for International Gin and Tonic Day

Bombay Sapphire is giving the G&T a fresh lick of paint – quite literally – by launching a limited run of new gin and tonic serves enhanced by flavoured, edible paint in time for International Gin and Tonic Day (October 19).

The gin brand has teamed up with various bars across the UK, including Panda & Sons in Edinburgh, to launch the new serves which feature the flavoured, edible paint.

Created in partnership with Rich Woods, head of cocktail development at London bar Duck & Waffle, the Paint Collection is designed to allow bars “to experiment with creative new flavours”.

Each participating bar has created its own bespoke flavour of edible blue paint, which will launch in-bar on Friday (October 19).

Panda & Sons’ creation is described as a grapefruit-flavoured G&T.

Following the launch later this week, the Bombay Sapphire Paint Collection is expected to roll out in over 150 bars nationwide and forms part of the brand’s global goal to “stir creativity”.

Renaud de Bosredon, Bombay Sapphire UK brand ambassador, said: “We want people to have fun and be creative with the way they enjoy this iconic serve.

“Each essence has been carefully designed to complement our botanicals, showcasing the perfectly balanced flavour profile of Bombay Sapphire, and providing the ideal canvas for creative cocktails.”
