THE Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS) is inviting members and non-members to “enjoy a flavoursome journey of malt and music” as part of Feis Ile, The Islay Festival of Music and Malt, which kicks off tomorrow (May 25).
The SMWS is hosting a series of events, beginning tomorrow with a “relaxed garden party” at Islay House, which will offer whisky fans the chance to sample a range of “rare and fabulous” SMWS whiskies.
SMWS brand ambassador, John McCheyne, will run a series of tastings throughout the festival and host the ‘Region Rumble’, which will give guests the chance to taste, explore and vote for five SMWS celebratory bottlings.
The Islay Festival, which is now in its 32nd year, features a broad programme of events, including traditional music, ceilidhs and whisky tastings; and Islay’s distilleries host open days throughout the week-long festival.
