Borders pub gets ale acclaim

Rutherfords picked up CAMRA’s Borders Pub of the Year award

A MICROPUB in the town of Kelso has been named the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) Borders Pub of the Year.

Rutherfords scooped the award after gaining the most votes from members of CAMRA’s Edinburgh and South East Scotland Branch.

The pub, owned by husband and wife Simon and Debbie Rutherford, opened in 2015 and serves a rotating selection of up to four cask ales.

Peebles pub the Bridge Inn came second in the vote with the Plough Inn in the village of Leitholm, four miles from Coldstream, placing third.
