UNEMPLOYED young people in Dundee and Tayside will have the chance to take part in a programme to help them acquire the skills they need for a career in the hospitality industry.
The Diageo Learning for Life course, which returns to Dundee on April 30, is open to unemployed people aged between 18 and 28 and offers them six weeks of practical training alongside stints at several of the city’s hospitality businesses.
Launched in 2014, the nationwide scheme has seen 78% of its graduates go on to secure employment, according to Diageo.
Gillian Dalziel, programme manager at Diageo Learning for Life, said it is the “perfect time” for the programme to return to Dundee as its hospitality sector is “thriving”.
